Snow Days

Published by admin under Clayton,Sophia,The Family

This has been such a fun winter already — enough snow to actually make a snow man, and warm enough to actually be outside to enjoy it!

Welcoming 2015 with our feet in the sand

Published by admin under Clayton,Sophia,The Family

After a pit stop to celebrate with our KY Family, we made our way south to spend a week with Nana & Opa. The weather was in the low 70′s, the waves were just right and the quality time spent playing games, swimming, making sand castles or enjoying ice cream in downtown Venice was the perfect way to say good bye to 2014…and welcome 2015!

Christmas Events

Published by admin under Clayton,Sophia,The Family

After a special night of celebrating with our dear friends – and a competitive game of indoor basketball –  it was just the four of us for Christmas Eve. We had our traditional meal of lobster, steak and shrimp cocktail. Then we opened a few presents and went to the Candlelight Service at Church.

Santa made a stop at our house overnight and the kiddos were excited to find some fun new items in the morning.

Halloween 2014

Published by admin under Clayton,Sophia

Just like every year, the excitement for Halloween started in late September. We began talking about costumes for this year and how we hoped the weather would cooperate – since last year it rained and we barely had a 30 minute window to go out. Clay decided to be Batman, a costume he’d received for his birthday, and Sophie settled on a mermaid.

The weather predictions called for cold temps on the 31st so we did a dry run the weekend before, when it was sunny and the kiddos loved getting all dressed up and posing for the camera.

We woke up to snow flurries on Halloween morning — luckily there were parades planned at school for both kiddos so we sent them off with their costumes in their backpacks and hoped that somehow, the weather would improve before the afternoon. And it did!! We ended up with a chilly 45 degrees, but after a bit of layering under the costumes, we spent an hour outside, in the sunshine, and having a fun time. The kids ran into several of their school friends and filled their candy buckets in no time. It was a great Halloween and the sugar rush is still going strong:)

Circus Birthday

Published by admin under Clayton,Sophia

There was a clown, cotton candy, face-painting, popcorn and lots of carnival games!! You both had several friends over and even though we had to move the party indoors due to rain, you still had a great time. Happy birthday kiddos!!

Mama & Sophie Day

Published by admin under Sophia

I loved spending the whole afternoon together – just my little lady and I. I picked her up from school with a letter that I was so excited for our special day. We went to the mall where she picked Sub Way for lunch; she played on the play-ground, picked out a new shirt for herself and then was super, super surprised when our last stop brought us to an ear-piercing place. She was so excited!! A tad bit anxious…but very brave! Ice cream sure made her ear feel better too.

Halloween

Published by Tina under Clayton,Sophia,The Family

We did our usual “Trick or Treat” event in downtown Naperville and good thing we did….because the actual night of Halloween was very wet and cold. Opa also came out to visit around that time and we treated him to his first Pumpkin Patch ever!
