ESPN’s star baseball reporter, Buster Olney, today wrote that he believes Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Mark McGire, Sammy Sosa, and Roger Clemens may never make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame due to the suspicion, or in some cases, proof, that they used steriods. If his theory holds true, I will forgive Baseball for banning the best hitter (maybe even the best player) in the history of the game — Pete Rose — from joining the Hall. If even one of those cheats gets in, however, it will be the final nail in a nearly closed coffin for baseball, as far as I’m concerned.
