The Router Episode
Today, in perhaps my second most stressful daddy-care moment (the first being when I cracked my knee cap a year ago), I dealt with an international technical support agent to fix my Linksys wireless router, while also trying to keep Sophie entertained during the hour-long call, where my most frequently spoken phrase was, “Could you repeat that, please?”
In a strange coincidence, amidst the chaos, I slipped off the exact same stair on which I cracked the aforementioned knee cap, then spilled to the floor, shouting a loud curse into the poor agent’s ear (which even she understood — she gets that a lot, she said). Sophie was not in my arms during the fall, and was safe across the room, but the sight of her daddy going “timber!” down the stairs, plus the thud and resulting curse, startled her to hysteria. Lovely.
The router is now fixed. And the only damage I sustained was a sore foot.
Man, sounds like a rough day. That’s kind of a funny story though. Kind of reminds me of your falling into Shenandoah River 3 times in 90 minutes.
Indeed. Mix in sealing tile grout in our bathroom, plus 4 afternoon errands in 100 degree heat, and you’ve got a real winner!
One of those river falls was with my bike, one with my camera, but I can’t remember the third. I miss those trips. I imagine they would never be the same, though.
I watched a horrible movie last night, spiderman 3. The only saving grace was after I ejected it from my blueray player in disgust, bandcamp was on tv. I still get pumped everytime I see it on tv. Kinds funny that a movie who’s budget wouldn’t pay for the coffee on the other is so much better.
Except the “one ball” conversation. not cool.

Most movies with the number 3 behind them are probably not going to worth their salt. Hmmmm, let us have this discussion…

Hey Brad, the third fall in The Doah was shortly after the camera fall. If you recall, you got dried off, changed into new wading clothes and off we went. We were about 20 minutes into the fishing day and you took your third full body spill… And I agree, it won’t ever be the same. Sure were good times though. Great memories for life!
