Demand is high for pictures, and because we can’t get enough of looking at her, we’re certain everyone else in the world must feel exactly the same. Sophia had her first bath at home this week, and ended up in a laundry basket in a robe that’s way too big for her. She also took her first trip to Beverly Hills while daddy got a haircut and mommy got Sprinkles Cupcakes for desert. She took her first walk around the park, and she received her first official mail from the best photographer in the world, Melanie Mauer, and a cool Gap Red Collection Inspi(red) t-shirt from Mo-Mo and Dave in D.C. Lots of cute gifts are arriving everyday, including a book of Grimm’s Fairy Tales written in German, tracked down by Shelley. Sophia even received a fancy gift from the head of a division at a major Hollywood Studio.

As a friend of mine who’s wife also recently had a baby noted, the poop is way over-rated, but the lack of sleep is not. We’re doing fine, but I’m glad I don’t have breasts. I constantly crack up as Sophie goes into Great White Shark mode when she sees a nipple. Her mouth goes wide, her eyes roll back, and she thrashes her head back and forth as if killing prey. That’s my girl! I see someone in that face of hers that I know — maybe several people — but I can’t quite tell whom, yet.

Congratulations! She is beautiful. I saw your announcement in the church bulletin and congratuated your mother. Of course, her pride beamed on her face when Pastor Fields announced your new arrival. I hope you have a wonderful visit with her (she mentioned she is leaving to see you guys tomorrow).
May I also mention, your life will never be the same. :) I mean that mostly in a good way. Kidding!
    Take care.
