Sophie’s first day at home
After getting home around 1pm yesterday and showing Sophie her new home, she decided to take a very, very, very long nap. That very, very, very long nap was then followed by a not-so-sleep-filled first night at home. She and I spent most of the night eating, talking and rocking…through it all though, I kept thinking about how blessed Brad and I are to have this healthy girl and while I certainly don’t think sleep is over rated, I do know that those kinds of nights will happen and we will survive. Of course, I might eat my words after having had 3 of those nights in a row (when I’m back at work:) ).
I also wanted to Thank all of our family and friends for all the wonderful calls, blog comments, cards, phone calls and visits you’ve shared with us. I felt all of that support and love when I was helping Sophie into the world and am very thankful for it all.
One last note for today, my favorite part (besides just staring at her face) so far has been watching Brad with his daughter. There have already been two very distinct times that I remember where Sophie was screaming and all he had to do was put his hand on her chest and start to talk to her….to instantly get her to look at him and calm down. Simply wonderful.
Tummy time, coming-home outfit from our beloved Me-Me, car seat, boppy, and playing in the sun near the window.
Tina – what a beautiful post. She will sleep better by the time you go back to work! The best advice give to me was sleep when the baby sleeps. So you take a very very very long nap too! If you listen to no other advice, pay attention to this one! Can’t wait to see you guys again!
Brad & Tina – CONGRATULATIONS! We are just so thrilled to see pictures of this lovely child, and can’t wait to meet Sophie in person! Wish we could have been there to welcome her at the hospital – as we did her dad , not so very many years ago! Sorry Brad – you were cute , but this little doll has you beat! Love to all – looking forward to seeing you!

Sophia is goooooorgeous!!! And you would never know that Tina had just had a baby to look at some of the photos. Saundra said she had her nights and days mixed up. Hope she is getting “turned around”. I printed some of the photos for Rocko, he isn’t into the net. Is Kersten a family name? Just wanted you to know we were thinking of all 3!
Good work. I am very happy to hear that all is going well and that everyone is healthy. Make sure that Brad has his share of sleepless nights. That is only fair!
It takes awhile, but you forget about the sleepless nights…looking at Sophie makes me want another one. Thinking of y’all!
Brad and Tina
Congratulations – she is adorable!!!! We hope you enjoy every minute you have with her, even when they don’t seem so enjoyable at the time.
Our best to the three of you

Tina, the paragraph about Brad’s interaction with Sophie was really sweet and touching. Hope you all had a great 1st weekend together…
On a side note, the Bengals are 1-0!!! Sophie must’ve been a good luck charm and wore her Bengals onsie (I think Kelly made it at the shower) during the game
